My name is Nic, and I’m fluent in both Macs and PCs – bilingual, if you will! I’m a musician (singer-songwriter, pianist and guitarist) who has been using Apple’s Garageband now for about 12 years. I’m still amazed at what it can do for such a simple, inexpensive program.
Over the years I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve been asked by other musos if there’s a version of Garageband for Windows. It seems that there are a lot of Windows-only folks out there who crave the functionality and production values of Garageband, but are not prepared to go Mac for the cause either because they simply can’t afford to switch platforms, or they just prefer Windows for everything else.
I created the Garageband for Windows site to help other PC users find alternatives to Garageband to produce music in the same simple, intuitive way that Garageband pioneered. I hope the information here (the culmination of a lot of research, long debates with other musicians and sound engineers, and plenty of software usability testing), will inspire and help other musicians and music producers to find their own software groove to create great music projects.
All the best with your musical endeavours,
